Running a business is stressful; running a business in 2020 has proven to be incredibly stressful. In previous years, a typical client not in the middle of a litigation called perhaps once a week to ask a question or discuss a particular problem. COVID-19 brought with it additional stress, additional legal questions and many additions to the ever-changing legal landscape, especially in the area of employment law. The sometimes weekly question became daily questions - or even hourly. Clients need quick answers and are much more apt to use the phone instead of email. Attorneys' days are filled with phone calls (and emails) and evenings are often spent catching up on the newest statutes, regulations, orders of the day, etc. But we are not complaining.
